Here at Cornerstone Animal Hospital, we truly believe in the importance of preventative care as a way to keep pets healthy.
Routine examinations are an important part of good health. Our veterinarians need to keep a close eye on your pets to make sure they remain healthy. It is also a good time to make sure that your pets are maintaining a good weight.
Routine examinations also give us a good baseline for comparison in case your pets ever get sick. It is also helpful to do routine blood work so we know your pet’s values before they are not feeling well.
Our veterinarians will examine your pet thoroughly during routine visits. We are looking for any potential problems and hope to find them before they become quite serious. If you didn’t realize your pets were ill, their condition could get worse, making it even harder to figure out what is wrong. A late diagnosis may take a lot more time, tests, and money. Often the longer you wait, the harder the problem can be to treat.
We also use this time to talk to you about your pets and their habits. You may have some concerns you want to talk about. We may also hear something that makes us want to investigate further to make sure there is no problem. We will also use this time to make sure your pets are up to date on their vaccinations and that you have enough preventative heartworm or flea and tick medication for them. We want to be able to save you a trip back to get these medications.
